Grand Victoria Casino Opens Third Illinois Sportsbook

Grand Victoria Casino opened the third Illinois sportsbook since its legalization in 2019. The Elgin casino partnered with William Hill to operate the retail sportsbook. The casino’s General Manager, Bill Gustafson, said that the location of the sportsbook is ideal and can attract players within the area. Also, it will keep players engaged as they cheer for their favorite clubs.

The sportsbook is near the bar on the main casino floor. Also, it has three ticket windows. However, only two windows are open to comply with the state’s social distancing guidelines. The sportsbook has tables with comfortable seats. Also, it has several TV sets where players can watch games from 10 AM to 10 PM every day.

William Hill is waiting for the approval of its mobile sports betting application in the state. In the meantime, the Grand Victoria Casino opened the sportsbook a month after the state allowed casinos to reopen after more than three months of shutdown.

According to pay per head sources, other casinos are planning to launch their sportsbooks. However, they are waiting for approval from the Illinois Gaming Board. They include two Hollywood Casinos, Par-A-Dice Casino, and Casino Queen.

The sportsbook in Elgin is the latest US venture for William Hill. Based on sportsbook pay per head sources, the British gambling firm entered the US market in 2012. However, it focused its efforts in Nevada, where it has 113 sportsbooks and racebooks. Also, it has sportsbooks in Iowa, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Indiana.

Caesars Entertainment runs the Grand Victoria Casino. According to company insiders, the casino operator is planning to expand its sports betting operations across the US.
