888 is one of the top online betting and gambling firms in the world. ABG is excited to partner with 888 to provide an innovative sports wagering experience to Sports Illustrated fans. The SI sportsbook will launch in the summer. According to sportsbook pay per head sources, the online platform would have widgets and tools to help players make their picks. Also, SI would release a gambling-themed issue of the magazine in August.

That is because the magazine maintained a good reputation and integrity for more than six decades. Also, it would keep the same integrity with its sportsbook. They still have time to learn the reasons to have a racebook along with their sportsbook.

In 2018, the US Supreme Court overruled a 1992 federal law that prohibited sports betting outside Montana, Delaware, and Nevada. Since then, 22 states have an active sports gambling marketplace. Nine states would launch their marketplace in 2021 or 2022.

Maven became Sports Illustrated publisher in June 2019. ABG sold the magazine’s digital and print publishing rights to Maven a month after it acquired the brand from Meredith. Thus, SI is one of more than 250 brands under Maven, including History, Ski Magazine, Maxim, TheStreet.com, and more.

In 2019, Maven raised $20 million. Also, it got a $5.7 million loan as part of the federal government’s Paycheck Protection Program.
