Chinese basketball legend Yao Ming stepped down as chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association Management Company. It is the business arm of the CBA. Also, Yao led the efforts to commercialize the league since taking on the job in 2017.

The CBA thanked Yao for his years of service. However, there was no explanation for why he stepped down from the chairmanship.
